My Thanksgiving….

Every holiday seems to be a whirlwind of packing diaper bags, car rides, visiting, eating, laughter, and the inevitable “tired child” meltdown.  Both my husband’s and my parents are divorced, so we have double the holiday get togethers.  And, I am not ever going to complain.  I love big family dinners.  I love the loud talking (trying to be heard over top of children playing!!), I love the unpredictability of children in a large group setting, I love it all.  I love getting home at night, and carefully picking up the sleeping children out of the car, and quietly putting them into their beds, and kissing their foreheads.  I especially love leftovers.

This weekend, we tried to snap a few shots of our own little (not really that little) family.  Of course, when you have 4 young children, it is rare to have everyone on the same page, but darn it, I wanted an updated family shot!!  And we got one passible one….just barely!!

I am so thankful for my wonderful family.  My husband works out of town alot, and whenever we have down time to just play with the kids, relax, and enjoy each others company, I relish every minute.  I store up all of those good feelings somewhere inside of me, so that one night, when all of the kids are sleeping, and the house is quiet, I can quietly think of him, of how much I love him, and how I can barely stand waiting to see him again.  He is the greatest father that I know, not afraid to play like a child, not afraid to tell his children how much he adores them.  My children are the light of my life.  I spend most of my days being a mom, and portions of them being a photographer.  My children are funny, smart, stubborn, creative, and loving.  They never cease to amaze me.  Each and every day with them seems to be a new adventure.  They help me to see the world in new and exciting ways.

I was hoping to post something yesterday, but I could not tear myself away from my husband,  I knew that when I woke up this morning…he would be gone.  So instead, I snuggled up to him, watched some Dexter, and vowed that I would post this today…and I did!  I hope that all of you had a chance to enjoy family and friends on the long weekend.  It was a beautiful weekend to be outside with the people that you love!!!
